Skills
A skill is a set of instructions Claude reads before working: which Caribooks tools to call, in what order, how to check the numbers and how to present the result. Upload it once; from then on you ask for the report in one sentence.
Install a skill
- 1Download the zip file below.
- 2In Claude: Settings → Capabilities → Skills, then upload the zip. In Claude Code: unzip the folder into ~/.claude/skills/.
- 3In a conversation where the Caribooks connector is on, ask for the report. Claude picks the skill from the request.

Management report
The monthly or quarterly report a controller prepares for management, computed from your QuickBooks books: some fifty KPIs, profitability and breakeven, cash flow, growth, financial statements with comparatives, and an HTML report that prints to PDF.
What it produces
- →KPI summary: margins, liquidity, receivable and payable days, gearing, returns, each against the prior period and the same period last year
- →Profitability: breakeven point, margin of safety, top revenue and cost accounts
- →Cash flow: operating, free and net cash flow, reconciled to the change in cash
- →Profit and loss and balance sheet with variances and common-size analysis
- →Breakdown by class or department, receivables and payables aging
- →Every figure is checked against QuickBooks' own totals before it is shown
How to ask
- « Management report for the second quarter »
- « How is the business doing this month? »
- « Prepare July's report for the board »
Claude first shows how it classified each account (fixed or variable cost, debt, interest, depreciation). Fix that list before reading the numbers: it is what makes the report.
